At least Watch Dogs 1 had a respectable main character and a half-decent story. Opening this game, I am immediately bombarded with the most on-the-nose, predictable introduction to a story I could possibly imagine. They didn't even try to make it subtle. From the very beginning it forces you to sit through minutes long cutscenes where a narrator explains to you "GOVERNMENT BAD. GOVERNMENT SPY ON YOU. CORPORATION BAD. CORPORATION SELL DATA. ANARCHY GOOD. HACKER GOOD." The narration genuinely feels like I'm being lectured like a six year old.
The game also of course opens in the laziest way possible, following our protagonist breaking into a highly secure building to do something no one has ever done before. Who is he? How does he have the talents to delete his ctOS profile, something nobody has ever done before, and yet he somehow doesn't have the capacity to hack a forklift until you research it?
The dedsec characters themselves are also walking stereotypes of the modern internet. Every character is identified primarily by some surface-level detail about themselves. The protagonist and the other black character have almost nothing in common besides the fact that they're black, and that makes itself perfectly clear in the way that from the VERY moment these two characters speak for the first time the only thing they have to talk to eachother about is the fact that they're black.

If this is the level of storytelling I can expect out of this game, I'll pass. It feels more like I'm playing a piece of propaganda than it is a video game.

I used to hate this game, but now I don't. It's actually pretty good. Just try to find the right loadout for you.

I've only gotten through ME1 so far. I'm on to ME2 and 3 soon, but let me tell you that if you've made the mistake of not getting this trilogy sooner, then get it now.
ME1 alone has about 30 hours of gameplay in it I reckon. Plus triple that if you plan on replaying the game a few times to try different paths and explore lost opportunities. Throughout my 26 hour playtime I made many hard decisions, and every one of them was incredibly gripping. I felt like lives were at stake, and I felt an immense weight on my shoulders, a deep-seated compulsion to save everyone I had come to know over the course of the campaign. But saving everyone isn't always possible. Sometimes you have to choose.
I chose. Sometimes I doubted my decisions, sometimes I wished I could have done things differently to see if things would have played out better.

That's what this game is. You're Commander Shepherd, and the weight of an entire galaxy is on your shoulders.

Two days in and I've made some of the worst spaghetti imaginable. I absolutely hate my creations. They look terrible, they make me hurt just thinking about them. I wasn't cut out for this life but I love my spaghetti. It's a mess, but it's my mess; made with love.

I was hoping to like this, but the controls and the physics are both awful. Things which are sort of important for a game like this.
It's free though, so knock yourself out.

I'd give this a middle review if I could. I do like the concept of the game and I think I could easily put 10-20+ hours in if it weren't for some performance issues. I'm not sure if this is a problem other people are having with the game, but when I have more than 40+ nodes I start to notice a significant drop in FPS even when lowering available graphics settings.
Overall I like it. The graphics are simple yet effective and nice to look at, the sound design is equally simple and not a sore on the ears, and the gameplay while also simple manages to be captivating, satisfying, and relaxing. The game is, in-fact, simple, easy to pick up, and relaxing. I didn't even notice an hour and a half had gone by before I stopped to write this review. It is an incredibly easy game to play on a second monitor whilst you've got a podcast, youtube video, movie etc going on.
