Intro
Rangiku: Shunsui advice that I explained the different types of VTuber models to you.

Welcome To this guide which will explain the different types of models that virtual youtubers/streamers uses. Or even help with deciding which version that ya want to use, base on your means or for fun.
This guide will be arrange from basic easy means up to the fancy ones.

Note: This is a nutshell guide, it doesn't factor in paying the commission money to the Mommas/Papas, uploading vids and other nitty, gritty details. It's based on "pretending that you have drawing, coding, rigging" prodigy skills and if you're rich to afford the last ones.

Second Note: Help me catch the misinformation, misspellings and incorrect grammar.

Don't forget to:

PNG Model
A Gacha VTuber models is one of those types of PNG Models.

The PNGTuber uses an avatar that's very humble and easy to make and use, it's usually a 2D model.

Extra Stats: It's merciful towards computers that can't handle the various software that's usually unision for streaming.

Investment Range: Very easy to make. It requires little to no money. Unless, you're commissioning and the prices that the artist is offering.
3D Model

Extra Stats: These models are made with 3D programs, like Bender or VRoid.

Investment Range: Medium. Some of these models are cheaper to make and rig, due to certain software, like VRoid, which requires little to no money. But certain supplies and software, are a bit pricey. Same with getting an artist to do a commission and what are the prices for the drawing, rigging and set ups.

AI Model

Not to be confused for the AI Bot Vtubers, like Kizuna AI, this vtuber's model is made from the aid of ai art generators and various art software, like Photoshop. They can be either 2D or 3D.

Extra Stats: Some of the ai art generators are merciful towards low end computers. This makes it easier for those that want to make their models from scratch.

Investment Range:

Free/Medium/Rich. Depending on the ai art generators that ya intend to use. Some of them are free. Some can be installed locally, whereas others are website-ish. Then there's even those that require a subscription, like Midjourney or Adobe's Firefly. (Off-Topic Note: Adobe's software for artists are a tad bit pricey and they done enough shingdings to make a few artists to be weary of them. Think before dealing with Adobe, despite that they're an industry standard).
Company Made Models

The Company Made models are made by the industry or a company, they can either be 2D or 3D. They're either provided by an agency or they can be commissioned/bought by

Agency Models

Depending on the company. but it comes at a price. It will mean getting rid of your previous VTubing model. Since, you're working for a company/agency. (Ask if they can allow you to keep the model that's been with ya for as long as ya can remember, it's good to ask permission).

All of this goodness also banks on acing the job interview. Remember you have competition with other catgirls, squids and demon goddesses that are gunning for that position.

Investment Range: Pricey. Or if you're working for an agency, they're free.
2D Model

Despite the cartoony looks, the 2D doesn't need much tracking equipment and are more aesthetically pleasing and unique to look at.

Investment Range: Rich. It depends on the software that you'll be using, like if you're using Live D2. It is mostly pricey. The same goes with commissioning and if ya can find a big artist to help ya out, since some of them are booked for months upon months.
