About this Guide
This guide does not cover Food, Cooking, Eating, or Farming. See my Cooking Guide for those topics.

"I Know All This Already!"
Since I'm trying to be thorough, much of the info in the resources sections will not be new information to anyone who's already played the game (that's why I moved them to the end of the guide). Please don't feel patronized or get offended; just skip the stuff you already know.

Spoilers
As this is intended to be a reference guide, minimal effort has been spent to conceal spoilers. You have been warned.

Progression
<Angled Brackets> will indicate that these blueprints/recipes are critical to progression.

<Pottery Wheel>
  • Clay + Acacia Gum + Dirty Water => <Uncooked Pottery> (to make <Clay Flasks>)

<Kiln>
(this does not have a "Press F within the white bar" minigame, but instead takes several* seconds to complete each product)
(this cannot be automated by hooking it up to a windmill chain)
  • Charcoal + Salt + Clay => Terracotta (Bricks)
  • Charcoal + Salt + Uncooked Pottery => <Clay Flask> (needed to make <Antidote Brewing Still>)
* The amount of time appears to be quite variable, and speeds up the more products you produce. Two Terracotta bricks appeared to take about 100 seconds once. Another batch of 9 bricks took 2 minutes 6 seconds, with most of the products completing in the latter minute. The speed also seemed to jump erratically, possibly being tied to processor usage.

Fungicide Brewing Still
(this cannot be automated by hooking it up to a windmill chain)
  • Clay Flask + Milk + Potato => Mykter Fungicide
  • Clay Flask + Milk + Carrot => Mykter Fungicide
  • Clay Flask + Milk + Reishi Mushroom => Mykter Fungicide

<Antidote Brewing Still>
(this cannot be automated by hooking it up to a windmill chain)
  • Mykter Fungicide + Reishi Mushroom => <Mykter Antidote>
Use this to complete the last level, the <Leviathan>.
Recipes > Farming Products
Farm Plots
<Farm Plots> are needed to grow Flax for <Linen>. The shape determines output:
  • Large, square plots yield 4 crops per seed (or 1 larger, renewing plant)
  • Rounded or Triangular plots yield 3 crops per seed (or 1 larger, renewing plant)
  • Smaller, decorative plots yield only 1 crop per seed

Compost Bin
Note that <Compost> is needed to make Farm Plots
  • Manure => Compost x3
  • (any crops, seeds, or flowers) => Compost

Worm Bin
If placed near the Compost Bin, it will produce periodically 1 Worm that can be collected.

Mycosis Terrarium
First, load it with Mykter Fiber; then wait some time for it to be ready, then you can apply a coating.
  • Mykter Fungicide => Intact Mykter Sample x20
  • Mykter Antidote => Injured Mykter Sample x20 (not yet used in the game)
  • ??? (not yet available) => ???

Blueprints > Construction
You get a selection of Wood parts to build almost immediately, and can quickly learn a variety of Wood & Stone building parts using your Sketchbook.

Note that there is no functional difference between Wood and Stone buildings. Technically, wood is more readily available than stone (since you can grow it yourself), but practically that doesn't matter. Choose one or both according to your visual preference.

Blueprints > Beacons
These beacons can be a bit mysterious at first. They work with the table-map. Place a beacon on an island to mark it; then, at the table-map, you can find all islands with that beacon-symbol by clicking on the symbol in the filter list (in the upper-right corner of the table-map screen). All islands that do not have that beacon on them will turn dim, while the islands that do have the symbol will be bright. Note that there is another beacon, which cannot be built, displaying the Atlas symbol (a spiral with three downward ticks on the bottom). These islands are pre-marked on the table-map.
  • Flat-top symbol: 3 Stone, 2 Leaf Cloth, 4 Wood, 1 Yellow Pigment, 1 Cyan Pigment
  • Donut-ring symbol: 3 Stone, 3 Leaf Cloth, 1 Red Pigment, 1 Yellow Pigment, 1 Cyan Pigment

Resources > Biome 1
In addition to the following, there is access to resources from Corrupted islands (see below, under "Mushroom/Mykter Resources")

Wood
So plentiful it grows on trees! Pluck the branches for an eco-friendly solution. Note that "regular" wood is dark outside, light inside (unlike "Darkwood" -- see below).
Uses: Too many to count! Used in most building parts. Eventually, you can turn it into Planks at the Sawmill

Stone
Only technically less common than wood, simply because you can't grow it yourself. In Red Cliffs, you will see groups of stones floating, but they are just normal stones once collected.
Uses: Too many to count! Try combining two to make a Sharpened Stone

Leaves
Gathered from fallen trees, these are easiest to obtain from young saplings. In Fallen Heights, piles of leaves can be "raked" with the Dorkip.
Uses: weave 3 into Leaf Cloth (or 1 at the Loom), Digestive Tea, Leaf Bed, Trellis (leafy kind)

Small Plants
Harvested from local fauna using a Sickle (and gained as a bi-product when harvesting your farm crops).
Uses: Hay to feed your Sheep, Alpacas, and Goats; Paper Pulp, Rattan window, the "flower crown" beacon part

Charcoal
Charcoal cannot be made; you must harvest it from burnt stumps (there are plans to make these renewable via lightning strikes).
Uses: decorative lighting, filtering Dirty Water into Clean Water, Field Guide, Sketch Book (both construction and use), Torch, Campfires/Fireplace (both construction and use), Stormchaser (both construction and use), Kiln (both construction and use), both Brewing Stills, dark Grey Pigment

Rope
Although many players are shocked that this can't be made by hand using Small Plants, it is actually a renewable resource. To get a never-ending supply of rope, visit the second large island with a fresco (you'll recognize the tall stone tower that was once a lighthouse). There are piles of rope that replenish with some frequency.
To Craft: 2 Mykter Fiber (by hand), or Wool/Linen Thread at the Spinner
Uses: Too many to count! Notably, Sails and Hay require rope.

Salt Crystals
Large, pink, and slightly glowing.
Uses: find Anchors with the Stormchaser, or grind into Salt at the Millstone, which is used for the Kiln, or cooking

Windstone
At night and underground (and during storms?), some rocks with carved striations will start to glow blue. When this happens, destroy them with your pickax to get both Stone and Windstone.
Uses: all Leaf and Wool Sails, Windmill Connector, Stone Plant Pot, Stone Tapestry, all Stormchaser tracking, Windstone Crystal Lamp

Windstone Crystal
Uses: Spyglass, Wood Dock, Linen sails, Windstone Lamps, Stormchaser tracking (Knowledge Stone), Crystal Window, Cyan Pigment

Windstone Gem
These are quite rare, but can be harvested from bright blue rocks that look the same as Windstone Crystal. Use these to craft a trinket.

Glasswort
You may find a strange orange-tipped plant called Glasswort.
Use: 1 Glasswort + 3 Small Plants + 1 Clean Water = 1 Paper Pulp.

Paper
Frequently, you may find books with pages flipping in the wind. Gather to get 1 or 2 Paper.
To Craft: 5 Paper Pulp = 1 Paper
Uses: learn blueprints by sketching them; make a Field Guide or Sketch Book; build a Research Lab

Brightsun Flowers
Use: to make Yellow Pigment, Bug Catching Net, Bird Feed, Bat Feed

Hardstone
This uncommon resource has curious right angles.
Uses: Carved Wood, Shears, Upgrade Station, sharpening weapons
Resources > Biome 2
Wax
Collect from beehives.
Uses: Waxed rope, decorative candles, Carved Pumpkin

Flax
Harvest this with a Sickle until you get Flax Seeds, then farm vast quantities.
Use: turn it into Fiber at the Flax Break (to make Linen; see below)

Azure Sky Flowers
Use: to make blue dye at the Pigment Pool

Yellow Moonbloom Flowers
Only blooms at night.
Use: decorative lights, Track Unhealthy Ecosystem with the Stormchaser

Purple Moonbloom Flowers
Super rare, but necessary to make the Purple Pigment that's required for certain building parts (Triangle Beacon, Customization Station for installing Trinkets)
Uses: Purple dye, Decorative lights
Resources > Biome 3
Darkwood
Uses: Adobe construction, Darkwood Planks --> Carved Darkwood --> Bone-tier tools, Kiln, Brewing Stills, storage

Bones
Can rarely be found in Biome #1
Uses: Bone-tier tools, Bone-tipped Arrows, White Pigment

Clay
Uses: Adobe construction, Orange dye, Pottery Station --> Brewing Stills, Kiln, decoration

Acacia Gum
Uses: making Uncooked Pottery at the Pottery Wheel (for Clay Flasks), and mixing pigments when coloring Clothes and Gliders at the Sewing Table/Glider Stand

Whistling Cores
Uses: Fungicide & Antidote Brewing Stills, Kiln, Track Leviathan with the Stormchaser, Research trinket

Aloe Vera
Use: to make Linen Bandages (tier 3)
Resources > Other
Mykter/Mushroom Resources
These things are related to the Corruption plaguing the Aloft islands. They are generally obtained by defeating monsters on corrupted islands. They can be combined with the Research Lab, and you may be able to produce your own (using the Mycosis Terrarium). Some may be found in chests.

Mykter Fiber
The standard "loot" from defeating enemies and freeing islands from the Corruption.
Uses: Rope, Mykter Grease, Research tier 1, the Mycosis Terrarium.

Intact Mykter Sample
You get these once you can coat a weapon in Mykter Fungicide, instead of Mykter Fiber.
Uses: Research Tiers 2, 3, 4; brewing Antidote? (I forget)

Injured Mykter Sample
This is obtainable in the current end-game by using the Mykter Antidote, but it's unused.
Uses: it currently has no use

Mykter Fungicide
Usually, you will find these in chests. By the time you can make your own, you no longer need to.
To Make: Mykter Fiber + Reishi Mushroom at the Fungicide Brewing Still
Uses: curing corrupted animals, coating tools/weapons to break barriers, do more damage, and collect Intact Mykter Samples

Mykter Antidote
This looks like it may be merely a mid-game recipe some day, but currently it is the end-goal of all this technological progression.
Uses: break the cages on the back of Leviathan

Reishi Mushroom (& Inoculant)
You can grow these on trees at your base. Equip the Inoculant and press E to plant the "seed".
To make the inoculant: grind Reishi Mushrooms at the Millstone
Uses: Bandages (all 3 tiers), Brewing Stills, cooking (vegetable).

Mykter Grease
Recently, the icon for this got updated. There may be some more uses for grease in the future, but current it just has the one.
To make: grind Mykter Fiber at the Millstone
Uses: to make Wooden Cogs

Insects
From your inventory, hold F to release the insect. This can help restore the ecology of an unhealthy island. You will see beetles appear on stumps and logs if they reside on that island.
  • Ladybug (Emerald Isles only - doesn't work in other biomes)
  • Blue Beetle (Emerald Isle and Fallen Heights - doesn't work in Red Cliffs)
  • Worm - counts as both an insect and a decomposer
  • Bee - only found in beehives
  • Horned Beetle (Red Cliffs only - doesn't work in other biomes); note that this appears blue before you pick it up

Leviathan Only
Wisteria
Uses: decoration, Teapot, Wisteria Tea

its possible. I am pretty sure i have most if not all patterns that are current, and i've placed almost one of every type with a few of the variations. I did send a bug report so maybe a dev will say if its accessible or an actual bug.

Good point, Squirrel! I've just repeated what others have told me, after actively trying it. I know I've placed many decorations without getting it. Maybe it used to be obtainable, but no longer is? Or perhaps it only applies to the most difficult to make decorations?

Are we sure the decor achiev isn't obtainable? I've seen .27% on it, which means someone somewhere has gotten it right?

Thank you! Yeah, I discovered Opal Door/Frame in Adventure mode via a learning stone. Quite fun to get the old "But wait, there's more!"

Wow, nice work! I'm pleasantly surprised that there are still building pieces for me to unlock, despite having cleared an entire world.
