Love the app, have redirected all my tracks for inside appearance, i. e. between dual tracks for people's protection, not outside, but cannot fix the stations - in the stations it is putting half the 3rd rail on the left and half on the right for each leght of 40 meters. Any fix?
Alternatively, I could place the Asset rails into the stations on one side of the track only, but at the short length it will take forever. Any chance to put up and Asset #rd Rail with, say 40 meters length or at least 20, please?
Awesome! Thanks for the shout out, your mod looks great!
I think it should be! I haven't tested it but I can't imagine there should be any conflicts.
It would be possible but as the 3rd rails are basically part of the models of the tracks themselves, I wouldn't want to redistribute their track models, not to mention I don't really have the time right now.
Cheers !
Head over to the discussion page of my UK 3rd rail to get there.
Very nice, thank you. This is perfect for creating subway's. Is it possible to create a version with speed restricited tracks?
If you're curious, I think that mod worked by replacing the catenary poles with the 3rd rail model, which meant they were always straight up. My mod works by adding the 3rd rail to the track model so it gets slanted along with the track on slopes.
It's fully slope conforming. It's kinda hard to see but if you look close at the third pic, the one of the flyover, you can see it. A few of the other pics are also on slopes but it's a little hard to tell if something's slanted or not when there aren't really any reference points. I made this mod specifically because I thought there was a way around the stairway effect from the 3rd rail mod you're talking about.
I've updated the mod to only have assets now. It's much better, thanks for the tip!
That's.... a much better idea. I totally had a brain fart making them into waypoints. I'll add them in as assets though probably I'll have to keep the waypoints for backwards compatibility.
as it won't create HUD spamming?
Thanks! The way I added the rail makes it part of the track model. That means that if I did make it electrified it would involve basically making the electric line invisible and removing the poles. The 3rd rail would still be there on non-electric track. This plus @Dark Centurion's reasons is why I didn't make it truly electrified.
I'd like to hear other people's thoughts though.
nice mod you did there.
Could you make it actually electrified?
Thanks!
In terms of those other rails: possibly, but those are pretty niche. Maybe if someone makes the mod for the trains for the DLR and the Class 504 I'll make it. Otherwise there's not much point to them! I want to make the UK rail because there already seems to be a UK modding community on here and a generic UK 3rd rail could be nice. I think after that I may try my hand at modding in some trains that are a little closer to home to me. But if someone's making those mods already I may put it in the pipeline!
