Don't know if they patched this by now but couple of weeks ago I wanted to force the Zroni in Galaxy Creation and never got any sites. Some research lead me to a reddit thread and it's basically like this:
The Galaxy setting limits what precursors can spawn but not that you can get them. This mod forces whatever you chose
son-goku 11 Jun @ 9:02am
@kroun, thanks for the info :)

I clicked all of them away when I created my last game ^^
kroun  [author] 11 Jun @ 8:45am
The precursors you choose in the game creation has no impact on the precursor selection menu from this mod, and in fact the precursor settings you set in the galaxy creation menu will have no impact on the game if this mod is installed.
son-goku 11 Jun @ 8:24am
@kroun,

so, how would I do this? Just choose one or no precursor in the game creation, then choose whichever I want via your mod?

I checked the Paradox forums and apparently, choosing the precursors in the creation places them all over the galaxy.
kroun  [author] 11 Jun @ 8:22am
@son-goku
You can only get one precursor without this mod.
The settings for precursors just disables specific precursors.
son-goku 11 Jun @ 8:16am
Is this mod still needed? When starting a game, there's a section under advanced settings, where we can choose which precursors we want. and we can choose multiple
Moist and Scugpilled 5 Jun @ 12:15am
Follow-up to previous post: Attempted a playset with no other mods in it. Still could not get the event to fire, nor could it be located with the console. :(
Moist and Scugpilled 3 Jun @ 11:28pm
So, for whatever reason, I can't seem to get the precursor selection box to show up, and trying to type "event PreSelect.1" in the console just gives me an error, "Could not find event". The toggle for the edict is also missing... Its almost like the mod is disabled, but its not.

So far, I've tried moving it up to the top and bottom of my load order. Neither seemed to work, sadly. The game still acts as if the mod isn't even installed. At this point, I'm rather confused as to what could be causing the issue...
MeniliteZ 1 Jun @ 7:40pm
You can collapse the precursor categories in the log.

Also, you should be done surveying before you start actually investigating precursor anomalies. You won't have any systems left to get the next one's anomalies.
Zalera 1 Jun @ 6:55pm
Great mod! Is it possible to add an distribution method that won't trigger the next precursor until the existing one is completed when selecting multiples? The situation log can get pretty crowded :)
kroun  [author] 26 May @ 12:49pm
@Moss-Man
Can we move this to either a discussion page or my channel in the stellaris modding den discord server?
MeniliteZ 26 May @ 12:44pm
Maybe First League needs a habitable, non-relic world surveyed to trigger?
MeniliteZ 26 May @ 12:41pm
Ah ok.
I got confused because I thought you added a function for distributing them across the galaxy which I don't see.
MeniliteZ 26 May @ 12:40pm
Hm, scratch that. I just tried a new game with Classic, seems thats not what it means.

But yeah, I don't even go into the settings in my games, I just pick and go.
kroun  [author] 26 May @ 12:40pm
@MeniliteZ
Distribution has nothing to do with the areas in the galaxy.
The word comes from the multiplayer settings as the different distribution modes were originally only available in multiplayer: Distribution, as in distributed among the players.
MeniliteZ 26 May @ 12:33pm
"Classic distribution mode" sounds like "Vanilla Standard" as in, they are spread across the galaxy.

Though I don't know why you'd get both Baol and Cybrex in that case. Unless you are on the border of two sections.

I could be misunderstanding completely though.
Moss-Man 26 May @ 12:08pm
I just started a new game. Remants origin with a relic world.

Chose Baol, First League, Cybrex
Classic distribution mode

Mods (in this order, top to bottom as seen in the Playsets tab of the Stellaris launcher):
- Precursor Selection
- Forgotten Empires 4.0
- More Events Mod
- Full Tiny Outliner

Cybrex triggered on 2200.05.25
Baol triggered 2201.05.14

It's now 2205.08.17, I've surveyed 3 systems and settled 1 of them. First League hasn't triggered yet.

I'm happy to send screenshots or my savegames if it helps. Also totally open to the possibility that I'm doing something wrong, I just don't know what. I've been using these mods for many months, the game seems incomplete without them!
Moss-Man 26 May @ 11:49am
Yes I've always been playing past the first few years and first few systems surveyed.
MeniliteZ 26 May @ 11:36am
@MossMan
You are aware of the delay between starts, right?
I just tried a new game, picking 3 normal precursors. I didn't get the second start until 2201.
Moss-Man 26 May @ 10:26am
It's the version updated May 25.
kroun  [author] 26 May @ 10:16am
@Moss-Man
Have you made sure you are using the newest version of them mod?
Moss-Man 26 May @ 10:11am
It's still not working for me. I reinstalled Forgotten Empires and made sure it was set to concurrent. I have Precursor Selection as the top mod. The only other mods I have installed are More Events and Tiny Outliner.

When selecting Baol, Cybrex, and First League I always get Baol but only one of the other two. I've tested on probably 5 or 6 games now. Same result when Forgotten Empires is removed.
kroun  [author] 26 May @ 9:21am
@Nilrem
Check what mods you have enabled.
Some mods overwrite the same mods as this one.
Nilrem 26 May @ 8:33am
i seem to have gotten only one precursor and can't get any more
Moss-Man 26 May @ 7:27am
Oh... I removed that mod as part of troubleshooting this one before the update yesterday. I'll reinstall it and try again.
kroun  [author] 26 May @ 7:12am
@Moss-Man
That setting is part of Forgotten Empires.
Moss-Man 26 May @ 6:45am
@kroun
Just classic I think.

Have these settings changed? I know there used to be an option between having the precursors be revealed concurrently vs consecutively.
kroun  [author] 26 May @ 5:53am
@Moss-Man
What distribution mode are you using?
Moss-Man 26 May @ 5:27am
Hi, this seems to max out at 2 precursors for me. I typically choose Baol, Cybrex, and First League, but only the first two are being activated. I've tried restarting several times.

The only mods I have are this one, More Events, and Tiny Outliner. This one is at the top of the load order.
Sebaty5 26 May @ 1:03am
@kroun Thanks that is huge. Keep up the great work.
Arathaea 25 May @ 5:49pm
Thanks, works perfectly now.
donamo 25 May @ 4:10pm
I pushed it to the top of the load order and it worked. Thanks!
kroun  [author] 25 May @ 12:26pm
@Sebaty5
Just made this as a setting: If you choose the Precursor Nonselection distribution method and set the amount to unlimited you will be able to uncover all precursors, but the precursors areas and the chance to get them will use vanilla behavior.
Riwebo 25 May @ 8:43am
Many thanks for the quick programming of the event. What you are doing is really great =)
Klingenmeister 25 May @ 8:09am
I can confirm it works again. Thanks for your hard work
kroun  [author] 25 May @ 7:35am
@Klingenmeister and @Arathaea
The issue should be fixed now.
Arathaea 25 May @ 7:11am
I'm having the same issue. If choosing the Baol, Zroni, Cybrex and First League, the Baol and Zroni digsites will show up just fine, but I'll only get either the Cybrex or First League introduction events, not both, even after five or so years of exploring. Even running the game with only this mod enabled and unsubscribing and resubscribing doesn't change it.
Klingenmeister 25 May @ 7:00am
Nope, just tested it with all other mods deactivated and it still doesnt work.

Ive been using this mod for 1 year and havent changed my mod loadout and it has worked until this week. I dont know what you changed on the 24th but it broke something.
kroun  [author] 25 May @ 12:13am
@donamo
If Known Precursor works and this doesn't, then you most likely have other mods that overwrite the introduction events.

@Klingenmeister
It sounds like you have a mod that overwrites the vanilla precursor's introduction events, but not the DLC ones.

@Ashtero
The Shaded Empire specifically has been blocked by request from the author. The V'inarii I cannot remember the reason for its missing inclusion, though I suspect it was coding issues.
Ashtero 24 May @ 7:59pm
Can you please add support for the Shaded Empire and V'inarii from Forgotten Empires?
donamo 24 May @ 6:44pm
I went and tested the old "known precursor" mod and that worked so it's definitely something here.

@kroun: thanks for the dope mod. I like all my precursors I can use their digsites. Thanks!
Klingenmeister 24 May @ 6:20pm
I did some more tests and I always get grunur on the first scan, zroni on the first habitable planet without primitives and one random precursor, the rest doesnt fire
Klingenmeister 24 May @ 5:42pm
It worked for me last time I played 1-2 weeks ago
donamo 24 May @ 5:19pm
Hey, the selection screen allows me to select all but then no anomolies or events for precursors pop up. I use GPM and some archaeology and event mods
Klingenmeister 24 May @ 5:12pm
I no longer get all precursors if I pick all precursors. Last test round I got zroni and grunur and this test round I got grunur, zroni and irrasians
kroun  [author] 24 May @ 7:26am
@Riwebo
I have added an edict that will fire the correct selection event upon enabling it.
The edict will only show up if the mod was not present at the start of the game.

This means anyone enabling this mod in the middle of a game will be able to open up the precursor selection menu, but there won't be an eternal settings edict to clog up your edicts tab.
Riwebo 24 May @ 3:44am
Thanks for your answer! When I type “event PreSelect.1” into the console, an error message unfortunately only appears
kroun  [author] 23 May @ 2:53pm
@Riwebo
You'll have to manually fire the selection menu with commands, but otherwise there should be no problem with activating it mid-game.
Riwebo 23 May @ 2:45pm
Can the mod be activated and triggered during the game? I got a nice start, great planets nearby, but after 20-30 years no anomaly for the precursors (only selected league of firsts)
kroun  [author] 23 May @ 2:19pm
@MeniliteZ
For digsites that applies to all digsites, which is why it can sometimes be beneficial to keep borders open if you have a lot of unclaimed systems that you have cut off with claimed systems. That way the ai can enter and survey for a chance of extra digsites.
