Zizo's Trawler Fishing (Deprecated)

Description
This addon allowed for fishing with vehicles before the actual game did. Now we have proper nets so go use those. If for some sick reason you still want to use this, it still works.

An hopper, lowered in the water will act as a fishing trawl.

How it works
  • Net needs to be underwater (minimum depth ~5m)
  • You need to move around in order to catch more fish
  • If you leave a full net underwater it will eventually overfill and break. When that happens you'll start to loose your catch. Broken nets can be repaired.
  • Sellpoints for your catch are the ones provided by the official fishing update. I suggest you use this addon by GrumpyOldMan that allows for faster fish selling.

What you need on your boat
  • A hopper labelled "Net" that is gonna act as a fishing net. You will need to be able to lower this in the water at different depths.
    You can have multiple hoppers, just label them all different ("Net1", "Net2", "Net3", ...)
  • It is advisable to have some way to monitor your net fill values and the depth.
    Also a depth meter comes in handy to know if you are dragging on the seabed or not as that could result in damaged or lost net.
  • Make sure the net is properly secured with ropes or you might loose it if it damages.

Features
  • Different fish types have different spawn rates, depths, locations and daytime.

  • Command ?fish to get all the currently avaible fish for your net position (only prints if any avaiable)
  • Some fish spawn in schools, making the catch less random.

Endeyfire, check out my implementation of the net system. It requires a little more thinking to get the nets above where you want them. I use a dual gantry design to handoff the winch pod for dropping the fish.

im sorry but please undepreciate this. its ligit the only "net" the makes any functional sense aside from the cheese. maybe call it easy mode, but nets atm have so much jank and junk in them that its hard to use them let alone make any with a fair and useable size. no collison alone just makes them unbearable in their implementation and i cant thank you enough for just having this addon up and running still.

If the devs ever add a way to edit the contents of their nets, you should totally make their nets work with this addon haha, it is absolutely not worth net fishing, you catch maybe 1 fish every 15 minutes in the dev hotspots.

and yeah you yourself would have to code in those biomes like the JSI Marine Addon did, theres supposed to be one more fishing update I believe, I wonder what thatll add.

This will not be updated, the way it has been implemented in the main game is such that variables like the fish biomes/depth that define spawn and hotspots are not accessible by the addon editor.
I don't see a way to implement the missing day/night and coastal/open-ocean variables.
